Death of Myrcella Baratheon

Ellaria Sand never forgave Oberyn's death, and when Myrcella sails from Sunspear back to King's Landing, Ellaria sees her off at the dock with a kiss. Her lips are painted with poison, and the gesture seals the girl's fate without anyone else noticing.

Aboard the ship, Myrcella tells Jaime she has long known he is her real father, not Robert. The two share the moment before the poison takes hold; Jaime holds her as blood runs from her nose and she collapses.

The ship returns to King's Landing carrying Myrcella's body, and Jaime with it. One look at his face on the dock tells Cersei everything. Together they work out that Doran had no hand in it and that Ellaria and the Sand Snakes are to blame; Jaime writes demanding their heads, but before any answer comes they kill Doran and Trystane and take Dorne for themselves.

The vigil is held in the Great Sept of Baelor, with Jaime and Tommen keeping watch, while the High Sparrow refuses to let Cersei in, to her fury. Myrcella is buried in a golden gown — the shroud an old prophecy had promised each of Cersei's children.
