House Bar Emmon of Sharp Point

Togarion Bar Emmon, an Andal warlord, raised a small kingdom on the northern shore of Blackwater Bay during the Andal Invasion; House Darklyn pushed back and drove him further south. He took the daughter of Josua Massey, crossed the bay with his forces, and carved out a new domain on Massey's Hook.

At the tip of the hook he built the castle of Sharp Point, and with the backing of the stormlanders of Ballarroca he set his wife's brother on the throne, a king who ruled in his shadow.

Before Aegon the Conqueror landed, the Bar Emmons owed fealty to the Storm Kings of House Durrandon, though their ties to the Targaryens of Dragonstone ran deeper. When Lord Aegon launched his invasion, the house sided with him rather than with Argilac the Arrogant.

After the conquest, with the creation of the Crownlands, the Bar Emmons became vassals of Dragonstone.

Lord Bar Emmon was among the few lords who did not desert Maegor I Targaryen once the king found himself nearly alone. On the last day of his reign, Maegor gathered those still loyal to him at King's Landing to plan battle against his newly crowned nephew Jaehaerys.

But so few great lords answered the call that their resolve collapsed before the fighting began.

During the Dance of the Dragons, Lord Bar Emmon backed Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen's claim to the Iron Throne, adding Sharp Point's loyalty to the black cause.
