The Harlaws of Harlaw rule the island that shares their name, one of the most prominent houses of the Iron Islands in service to the Greyjoys. Their sigil, a silver scythe on black, sits atop a trunk with four other branches growing from it.
Their seat, Ten Towers, was not always the castle it is now: before its ten towers stood linked by covered bridges, the lords of Harlaw lived somewhere else on the island, and a far less hospitable one.
Chapter 1
The price of a raid

The Lord of Harlaw of that day was among the many who died in the reckoning.
Chapter 2
From the old seat to Ten Towers

The Harlaws once had a different seat on Harlaw itself, until Lord Theomore Harlaw — Rodrik Harlaw's great-great-grandfather — decided to leave it behind. He had lost three infant sons to the damp of that place, and wanted to build somewhere better placed.
Out of that decision came ten separate towers, later linked by covered bridges into a single castle: Ten Towers, the home the lords of Harlaw keep to this day.
