House Paege
Casa Paege
The Paeges are a family of landed knights from the Riverlands, without a seat of their own and answering to the lords of Harrenhal. Their name surfaces only a handful of times in the chronicles, always at moments when the river lords had to choose a side.
Chapter 1
The Storm King's convoy
Books only
Long before the Targaryens crossed the Narrow Sea, the ironborn brought war to the Riverlands. A Lord Paege joined Lords Goodbrook and Vypren in falling upon the supply convoy of Storm King Arrec Durrandon, striking it before it reached the Blackwater, while Arrec tried to check the advance of Harwyn Hardhand.
Chapter 2
Maegor's nephew
Books only
Generations later, when Prince Aegon Targaryen rose against his uncle, King Maegor I, a Lord Paege was among the few lords who rode with him. Whether the Paeges were by then a noble house in their own right or still knights sworn to another lord is not recorded.
Chapter 3
The absent banner
Books only
Centuries later, with House Paege sworn to the lords of Harrenhal, their declared loyalty to the Iron Throne did not translate into boots on the ground: during the siege of Riverrun, the banner of twin serpents was absent from the besieging camp.
