House Goodbrook

Long before the Targaryens crossed the narrow sea, the Riverlands lived under the rule of the Ironborn. When the Storm King Arrec Durrandon marched his host to check the advance of Harwyn Hardhand, a band of river lords struck the supply train backing that march before it could reach the Blackwater.

Among them was Lord Goodbrook, alongside the lords of House Paege and House Vypren. The blow did not turn the war, but it showed that the rivers, subdued as they were, could still bite back.

When Robert's Rebellion broke out, Lord Goodbrook did not follow House Tully into revolt: he stayed loyal to King Aerys II Targaryen. Hoster Tully's answer was to march on his lands and put his seat to the torch.

After the war, Lord Goodbrook's son swore fealty to the new king, Robert I, and to Hoster Tully himself. The house survived the change of allegiance, but it never fully recovered the wealth left behind in the fire.

Years later, the Goodbrook emblem flew in the field again, this time among the banners mustered by Ser Daven Lannister for the siege of Riverrun.

Diminished since the burning of their old seat, the house shows up now as little more than one signature among the flags of someone else's army.
