House Darry of Darry

In the years when two Targaryens fought over the Iron Throne, the Lord of Darry of that generation stood with Princess Rhaenyra against her rivals.

Generations later, when Daemon Blackfyre raised his banner against King Daeron II, the house again sided with the crown.

When Robert Baratheon rose against Aerys II Targaryen, Lord Hoster Tully -the Darrys' own overlord- joined the rebel cause, but House Darry did not follow him and stayed loyal to the king.

Ser Raymun Darry, who would later lead the house, saw three of his brothers fall at the Trident; the Targaryen defeat left the Darrys with less than half their lands and hardly any strength left.

With the War of the Five Kings already under way, Ser Raymun Darry rode to King's Landing alongside Ser Marq Piper, sent by Lord Hoster Tully to ask the king's leave to hunt down Ser Gregor Clegane.

Raymun never came back: he fell at the Mummer's Ford, and the lordship passed to his son Lyman, who offered his sword to King Robb Stark.

When Lord Lyman returned to his castle, Ser Gregor Clegane's men fell upon Darry and killed him.

With him died the male line of House Darry, leaving its succession open.

With no male heir left to claim the castle, Tywin Lannister, then Hand of the King, granted it to his nephew, Ser Lancel Lannister.
