Manfryd Redwyne

Manfryd Redwyne was Lord of the Arbor and head of House Redwyne during the reign of Jaehaerys I Targaryen, who brought him onto his Small Council as Lord Admiral and Master of Ships.

His time at the court of King's Landing put him at odds with Daemon Velaryon, the man he had replaced at the head of the fleet.

In 50 AC, now an adult, King Jaehaerys I Targaryen reorganized his Small Council. He named Daemon Velaryon Hand of the King and passed the offices Velaryon left vacant, Lord Admiral and Master of Ships, to Manfryd Redwyne.

The new Master of Ships left the Arbor for King's Landing. His sons Robert, Rickard, and Ryam, still squires, traveled with him.

The rivalry that cost him the Handship

Four years later, in 54 AC, Daemon Velaryon resigned as Hand of the King. Many blamed the decision, in part, on his rivalry with Manfryd, who had replaced him at the head of the fleet.
