Arwen Swann

Arwen Swann was born into House Swann, but her marriage to Iain Umber carried her name into one of the great houses of the North.

Her story is told only in the television adaptation of the saga; no character by that name appears in the novels of A Song of Ice and Fire.

Chapter 1

The marriage into House Umber

Show only

Arwen was the daughter of Lord Ector Swann and Lady Eleanor Swann. Her marriage to Iain Umber took her away from her birth house and into the North, where she became part of House Umber.

She and Iain had at least one son, who was given his father's name. The record of this union between the Swanns and the Umbers survives in the lineages of the great houses of the Seven Kingdoms.
