Lord Darry

Lord Darry inherited the lordship of Darry from his father, the previous head of the house. Less reliable sources credit him with a large family, at least six children, among them Raymun, Mariya, and Jeyne.

When Robert's Rebellion broke out, he kept faith with Aerys II Targaryen and sent his troops to fight in the king's name, defying his overlord, Lord Hoster Tully. Three of his sons fell fighting at the Trident, on the side their father had chosen.

The fall of the Targaryens cost the house dearly: it lost half its territory, most of its wealth, and much of the influence it had once held in the region.

By around 298 AC the castle of Darry was in the hands of Ser Raymun, one of the sons who had survived the earlier war — a sign that Lord Darry no longer governed his own lands.

In that same period, with the realm at war again after King Robert's death, Raymun died fighting at the Battle of the Fords.

After the Battle of the Camps, King Robb Stark allowed the river lords to return home, and Lyman, Raymun's son, took back the castle of Darry.

Not many days passed before Ser Gregor Clegane sacked it and killed Lyman: with him died the male line of House Darry. The family's blood lived on through the female line, in Mariya and Jeyne, Lord Darry's daughters, who had married into House Frey.

After Sandor Clegane was captured by the Brotherhood without Banners, Tom of Sevenstreams threw in his face the deaths of three Darrys — Ser Raymun, Lord Darry himself, and young Lyman — at the hands of men loyal to House Lannister and House Clegane.

Lyman was not yet a lord when Robb Stark was crowned, but Tom already calls him "Lord" when speaking of his death, which suggests Lord Darry must have died early in 299 AC, briefly succeeded by his grandson.
