Maldon IV Durrandon
Maldon IV Durrandon was King of the Storm and head of House Durrandon during the Andal Invasion, when the native realms of Westeros fought the newcomers from across the Narrow Sea. His reign was defined by a war that neither side could tip in its favor.

A wife from the enemy's ranks

During his reign, the war against the Andals refused to tip either way: battles were won and lost in equal measure, with neither House Durrandon nor the invaders able to gain a lasting advantage.
Faced with that lingering stalemate, Maldon took an Andal maiden as his wife. Durran was born of that marriage, and would later inherit the title of King of the Storm.
