Qarlton III Durrandon
Qarlton III Durrandon was King of the Stormlands and head of House Durrandon at the time the Andals crossed the sea and landed in Westeros.
He had to defend his kingdom against that invasion, and the throne passed afterward to his son Monfryd.
Chapter 1
A kingdom against the Andals
Books only
Qarlton inherited the storm crown from his father, Qarlton II, and with it a war he had not chosen: that of the Andals, who at the time were arriving in waves on the shores of Westeros and pressing against the lands he ruled.
The accounts that survive do not describe how that struggle unfolded or which battles marked it, only that Qarlton's reign was defined by standing against it.
Chapter 2
The succession
Books only
At his death, the storm crown did not break: it passed to his son Monfryd, who carried on the Durrandon line at the head of the kingdom.
