Monfryd I Durrandon, called the Mighty, ruled as King of the Stormlands at the head of House Durrandon. He extended his house's reach westward, crossing the Blackwater to seize two port towns from rival kings.

Monfryd inherited the storm crown on the death of his father, Durran X. He was not content with what he had inherited: he led his forces across the Blackwater, into the lands of Houses Darklyn and Mooton, and fought them in a series of battles.
He came out of those wars victorious, and with the victory came two port towns, Blackwater Vale and Maidenpool, which passed into the hands of House Durrandon.
