Monfryd V Durrandon
Monfryd V Durrandon was King of the Stormlands and head of House Durrandon during the Andal Invasion, a period in which his forebears had to defend their lands from the newcomers arriving from across the Narrow Sea.
His reign ended at the Battle of Bronzegate, where he faced a coalition of Andal petty kings and warlords.

A kingdom inherited at war

Monfryd succeeded his father, Qarlton III Durrandon, on the Stormlands throne. He also inherited the same problem his father had faced, and his grandfather before that: the Andal Invasion, which had been pressing on the territories of the Kingdom of the Stormlands for generations.

The Battle of Bronzegate

Ranged against him stood the Holy Andal Brotherhood, an alliance of seven petty kings and warlords. Monfryd met them at the Battle of Bronzegate and defeated them, but paid for that victory with his own life.
