His reign is remembered for how he brought the island of Tarth into his domain — not with an army, but with a marriage.

King Edwyn, called the Evening Star, ruled Tarth as an independent island, owing no allegiance to the stormlands.
Durran Durrandon ended that independence by taking Edwyn's daughter as his wife. With that marriage, Tarth was annexed into the Durrandon domain.
