Olyver Bracken
Ser Olyver Bracken served as a knight of the Kingsguard under King Maegor I Targaryen, until he chose to abandon that post as the throne began to shake beneath the king. That choice cost him the white cloak and left him wearing the black of the Night's Watch instead.
Years later his name resurfaced for a very different reason: as one of the leaders of an attempted mutiny among the sworn brothers, an episode that tested just how far Stark authority over the Wall truly reached.
Chapter 1
The price of changing sides

In 48 AC, when Prince Jaehaerys Targaryen rose to press his claim to the throne against his uncle Maegor I, Ser Olyver did not wait to see how it would end. Together with his sworn brother Ser Raymund Mallery, he left the king's guard and threw in with the claimant.
The gesture bought him little. Jaehaerys took the throne, but he did not forgive a broken oath: neither man was allowed into the new Kingsguard, and the new king gave them a choice between the headsman's axe and the black of the Night's Watch. Both chose the Wall.
Chapter 2
The mutiny at Puertahelada
50 ACBooks only
In time, Ser Olyver and Ser Raymund stopped settling for the black: they tried to seize command of the Wall's castles and led a rising among the sworn brothers.
Lord Walton Stark marched north to put down the mutiny. In 50 AC the rebels were defeated at Puertahelada and most were hanged. Ser Olyver met a different end: Lord Stark beheaded him himself, with Ice.
