House Allyrion of Godsgrace

Allyrion tradition traces the house back to the Andal invasion, when they were counted among the few Andal kings the Martells eventually yielded to.

Centuries later, during the war that put Aegon Targaryen's crown over Westeros, Queen Rhaenys flew the length of the Vaith river and reached Godsgrace. She found the castle standing empty — its lords had chosen not to make a stand behind its walls.

Ser Ryon Allyrion and his bastard son ride among the Dornish lords and knights escorting Prince Oberyn Martell to King's Landing, where Prince Doran has sent him to fill the seat won on the small council.

One of their own, Ser Daemon Sand, stays close to Oberyn on the day of the trial by combat against Ser Gregor Clegane, seconding him through the duel.

When Prince Oberyn dies at Ser Gregor's hands, Ser Daemon Sand sends the news by raven to Nymeria Sand.

On his return to Dorne, Prince Doran Martell has him arrested.

Daemon is eventually freed, and reappears at his father's side at the banquet Sunspear holds for Ser Balon Swann when he arrives bearing Ser Gregor Clegane's skull.

Ricasso raises his cup to King Tommen Baratheon's health; Ser Ryon drinks, but Ser Daemon leaves his own untouched.
