Valerion Targaryen
Valerion Targaryen was one of the many children of King Jaehaerys I and Queen Alysanne, the sibling couple who ruled Westeros for decades. He was born in King's Landing in 77 AC and did not live to see his first year.
Chapter 1
The twelfth child
77 ACBooks only
Valerion was born in King's Landing in 77 AC, the sixth son and twelfth child of Jaehaerys I and Alysanne. He was preceded by eleven siblings: Aegon, Daenerys, Aemon, Baelon, Alyssa, Maegelle, Vaegon, Daella, Saera, Viserra, and Gaemon; a younger sister, Gael, would follow later.
The queen was forty years old when she found herself pregnant again, and the birth was so difficult that it kept her bedridden for half a year.
Chapter 2
A health that never came
77–78 ACBooks only
Like his brother Gaemon four years before him, Valerion was born small and sickly and never grew into good health. Half a dozen wet nurses took turns at his side without managing to improve him.
He died in King's Landing in 78 AC, fifteen days before his first nameday. Alysanne took the news with resignation.
