Viserra Targaryen

Viserra was the sixth daughter and tenth child of Jaehaerys and Alysanne: Aegon, Daenerys, Aemon, Baelon, Alyssa, Maegelle, Vaegon, Daella and Saera came before her, and Gaemon, Valerion and Gael were born after. She grew up as the favorite of lords, famed knights and beardless boys alike, and the attention fed a vanity few of her sisters shared.

She enjoyed setting her admirers against each other, demanding absurd feats to earn her favor: swimming the Blackwater, climbing the Tower of the Hand, freeing the message ravens. She once told six young men she would give her maidenhead to whoever put his head between a dragon's jaws at the Dragonpit, a game the Dragonkeepers put a stop to before anyone was hurt.

In 87 AC the crown announced her betrothal to Lord Theomore Manderly, Lord of White Harbor, already a widower four times over and considerably older than her. The match would bind the North to the Iron Throne, but Viserra had no interest in him: she had set her heart on marrying her own brother Baelon, himself widowed by the death of another sister, Alyssa, and fourteen years her senior.

Neither Queen Alysanne, who tried to win her over by praising Lord Manderly's wisdom and kindness, nor King Jaehaerys, who simply told her the match stood, could make her relent. In despair, she slipped past her guards one night, entered Baelon's chambers, and waited for him naked, but the prince found her drunk and sent her away; two maids and a Kingsguard knight had to help her back to her own rooms.

Viserra eventually agreed to the marriage, but first wanted one last night of freedom before leaving the Red Keep. Disguised as one of her own handmaids, she slipped out to Flea Bottom with two minor lords and four knights, drinking ale, mead and wine until the small hours.

At midnight, with part of the party too drunk to keep up, she proposed a race back to the castle through the city streets. On Aegon's High Hill her horse collided with a companion's; Viserra was thrown, struck her head against a wall and broke her neck. It was Ser Ryam Redwyne of the Kingsguard who woke the king and queen at the hour of the wolf to bring them the news.
