Wailing Willows
On this tab
Wailing Willows is the battle fought on the southern shore of Gods Eye in which two sons of Harren Hoare tried to avenge a recent defeat their father had suffered against Aegon the Conqueror.
Hoare Attack
Aegon had just won the battle of the Reeds when two of Harren Hoare's sons chose to answer on their own. They gathered longships and crossed Gods Eye to strike the Targaryen forces, and the blow cost the invaders dearly, with heavy losses on the Targaryen side.
But the victory did not survive the trip home. As they sailed back toward Harrenhal across the lake, Balerion fell on them and killed them both.
