Kiera
Kiera, known as Kiera of Tyrosh, was princess consort of the Seven Kingdoms through her marriages to two Targaryen princes: first Valarr, grandson of King Daeron II, and later his cousin Daeron, eldest son of King Maekar I. Having come from Tyrosh to the Westerosi court, her story is part of the succession disputes that marked House Targaryen in the third century after the Conquest.
Chapter 1
The marriage to Valarr
Valarr TargaryenKiera married Prince Valarr Targaryen, grandson of King Daeron II. As was expected of the dynasty, the marriage was meant to secure the succession, but Kiera's pregnancies repeatedly ended in miscarriage or in stillbirths, among them a pair of twins.
The lack of surviving heirs fed rumors at court, and Lord Bloodraven was pointed to as the one responsible for those failures. Valarr died during the Great Spring Sickness, leaving Kiera a widow.
Chapter 2
The daughter left out of the succession
222–233 AC
Some time later, Kiera remarried, this time to Daeron, her first husband's cousin and the eldest son and heir of King Maekar I. In 222 AC the couple had a daughter, Vaella, who was born mentally disabled.
That condition weighed on the girl's future: when the Great Council convened in 233 AC to decide the succession to the Iron Throne, Vaella was not considered a candidate.
