Lady Tully grew up as one of the daughters of Edmyn Tully, the lord holding the seat by the Trident when the Targaryens were still settling their new order over Westeros.
Her marriage to the new master of Harrenhal joined two houses that had barely known each other before, in the early years of Aegon the Conqueror's reign.
Family Origins
Edmyn Tully had three daughters, and she was one of them, born while her father was still only the lord of Riverrun. Once Aegon I gave him command of the whole Trident, the Tullys rose from one house among many to the head of the region.

Quenton Qoherys had recently inherited the rule of Harrenhal, and sought an alliance among the river lords to secure his new title. He chose her as his wife, and she became Lady of Harrenhal.
