Axel Tully
Axel Tully was the first lord of Riverrun, the stronghold he himself built and which gave the house its name. Before raising it, he fought alongside his father, Edmure Tully, in King Tristifer IV Mudd's wars along the Trident.

Axel was the son of Edmure Tully, and he followed him to war: together they fought in most of the battles King Tristifer IV Mudd, the Hammer of Justice, won over the course of his reign, nearly a hundred in all.
Chapter 2
The founding of Riverrun

When the king died, Edmure Tully withdrew from the war and took service under Lord Armistead Vance. In return, Axel was granted the lands stretching between the Red Fork and Piedra Caída, and there he raised a stronghold he named Riverrun.
