Aelora Targaryen
Aelora Targaryen was a princess of the royal blood, daughter of Prince Rhaegel Targaryen and Alys Arryn, and twin sister of Prince Aelor, whom she married.
Her life unfolded during the reign of her uncle Aerys I Targaryen, a king with no children of his own who spent his reign naming and discarding nephews as possible heirs, and she herself came to hold the place of Princess of Dragonstone, heir to the Iron Throne.

The lamprey pie
215–217 ACBooks only
In 215 AC Prince Rhaegel Targaryen choked to death on a lamprey pie during a feast, leaving the succession open under his uncle, King Aerys I. Aerys, who had no children of his own, had spent his reign naming and discarding nephews as possible successors.
Rhaegel's son Aelor then became Prince of Dragonstone and heir to the throne, with his twin sister and wife Aelora at his side. Two years later, though, Aelor died in a strange accident that was never explained: the one who caused it was Aelora herself.
