Death of Laenor Velaryon

The maesters remember 120 AC for how many nobles death claimed within a few weeks, and among them was Ser Laenor Velaryon, whom the chronicles record as murdered by Qarl Correy.

Nothing in the record explains the motive or the exact circumstances of the attack; only the name of the man responsible and the deed itself remain.

The version passed down in writing differs from the one shown on screen, where Correy himself stages the killing so that Laenor can escape alive, far from Driftmark. The atlas keeps here the chroniclers' version, noting that both accounts exist and contradict each other.
