A fire tears through Harrenhal in the year 120, killing Lord Lyonel Strong and his son Ser Harwin Strong. No one ever settles what caused it: officially it is ruled an accident, or else one more turn of the curse the castle has carried since it was built.

Harwin StrongThe fire catches at Harrenhal and spares neither Lord Lyonel Strong nor his son Ser Harwin. The realm's chroniclers agree on nothing beyond that: some call it an accident, others point to the old curse said to follow the castle since Harren the Black raised it.
Some look for a hand behind the flames. The name of Larys Strong, Harwin's younger brother and sudden heir after the double death, is spoken among the suspects alongside Daemon Targaryen, Corlys Velaryon, and King Viserys I himself. No chronicle proves it.
