Fifteen days before the wedding, Laenor Velaryon was knighted. The ceremony that joined him to Rhaenyra Targaryen followed shortly after, sealing the marriage between the Princess of Dragonstone and her cousin.
The tourney held to celebrate the union turned sour during the joust: Ser Criston Cole struck Ser Joffrey Lonmouth with a morningstar. Lonmouth did not die on the spot, but six days later, from his wounds.
