During the reign of Aerys I Targaryen, the Durwells earned a reputation among their neighbours in the Reach for stealing livestock, practiced consistently enough to become the house's defining trait.
That reputation existed alongside their place in the region's hierarchy: sworn to House Tyrell and neighbouring the lands of House Webber, the Durwells held a modest position within the Reach.
