Martyn Tyrell

After the death of Rego Draz, and on the advice of Septon Barth, King Jaehaerys I Targaryen chose Martyn Tyrell, son of Bertrand Tyrell, Lord of Highgarden, as the new Master of Coin in 60 AC. Martyn was young at the time and eager to take on the post.

The real reason behind the appointment was less simple: what tipped the balance was the skill of his wife, Florence Fossoway, with numbers and the realm's accounts. Known as the Apple Counter, Florence helped her husband manage the Crown's finances, and between the two of them they proved that Martyn could match the man who had held the office before him.
