Lorent Tyrell was Great Steward of Highgarden during the reign of Mern VI Gardener, a post he inherited from his father, Robert Tyrell.

High Steward of Highgarden

Lorent inherited the office of Great Steward of Highgarden from his father and held it under Mern VI Gardener. The realm he took on was recovering from a clash with Dorne that had left Highgarden sacked and the elderly former king, Garth X Gardener, dead.

That conflict had been pushed by Lord Peake and Lord Manderly, each hoping to see his own wife, both daughters of Garth X, succeed as queen of the Reach. It fell to Lorent to help Mern VI rebuild what that war had broken.
