Marianne Frey
Marianne Frey is one of the many granddaughters of Lord Walder Frey, the lord of the Twins whose sprawling brood served more than once as political currency. Her name enters the story when Catelyn Tully offers her, along with other daughters and granddaughters of Walder, as the price for letting Robb Stark's army pass south.
Marianne exists only in the television series: among the Freys of the A Song of Ice and Fire novels there is no character by that name.
Chapter 1
The bride who never was
Show only
The pact between Catelyn Tully and Walder Frey left Robb Stark free to choose a wife among the latter's daughters and granddaughters, and Marianne was one of the candidates. The King in the North ended up breaking that promise by marrying another woman.
When Robb arrived at the Twins for his uncle Edmure Tully's wedding, he apologized to the Frey women for the broken agreement, Marianne among them.

A name missing from the books
No Marianne Frey appears in the A Song of Ice and Fire novels. Walder Frey does have a great-granddaughter named Marianne Vance, daughter of Ser Dafyn Vance and Maegelle Frey, a different person despite the shared name.
