Petyr Frey

Petyr Frey, nicknamed Pimple by his own family, is one of the many sons of Ser Ryman Frey, raised in the lesser branch of House Frey at the Twins. Barely one or two years older than Robb Stark, his story crosses paths with the King in the North during the young king's second visit to his mother's childhood seat.

Pimple

281 ACBooks only

Covered in warts and pimples, Petyr has carried the nickname his own brothers gave him since he was a boy, and even his uncles and cousins use it without a second thought. Without the blemishes, he still wouldn't be much to look at. At ten years old he's married off to Mylenda Caron, a woman three times his age.

When Robb Stark visits the Twins a second time, Petyr is sent out to greet him alongside his father and his brother Walder. Grey Wind turns on them, spooking the horses and throwing him into the mud. During the Red Wedding, he tries to keep pace with the Greatjon's drinking and ends up passed out drunk.

Chapter 3

Death at Piedrasviejas

300 ACBooks only

After the slaughter, Petyr flees and is captured by the Brotherhood without Banners, who demand a hundred gold pieces for his release. Merrett Frey offers to pay it at Piedrasviejas, hoping to win favor with Ryman's branch of the family and spare his own kin from being cast out of the Twins once Lord Walder dies.

When Merrett reaches the meeting place, all he's shown is Petyr's hanged body. Not long after, Merrett himself is hanged for his part in the Red Wedding.
