Colmar Frey is one of the many sons of Lord Walder Frey, lord of the Twins, born to his seventh wife, Annara Farring. Unlike so many of his brothers, set aside for arms or for the marriages his father so favors, his path was set toward the Faith of the Seven.

Birth

Colmar was born in the year 288, the second son Lord Walder Frey had with Annara Farring. Among the sprawling brood of the lord of the Twins, no castle or arranged marriage awaited him: he was pledged instead to the service of the Faith of the Seven.

Rumors of his parentage

His brother Merrett recorded a rumor circulating through the Twins: that Lady Annara shared a bed with a cousin of her husband. The gossip cast doubt on whose son Colmar truly was, and with him the other children born of his mother.
