Rhaenyra's flight to Duskendale is the moment when the queen, having lost King's Landing, seeks refuge away from the capital while trying to gather the strength to keep fighting the Dance of the Dragons.
The episode is defined by a promise of help from the North that arrives hedged with conditions and a timetable the queen cannot control.
Flight to Duskendale
After Prince Jacaerys died in the Battle of the Gullet, Queen Rhaenyra lost King's Landing following the Storming of the Dragonpit. Forced out of the city, she took refuge in Duskendale.
From there she sent word to Winterfell. Lord Cregan Stark answered with a promise of ten thousand northmen, but attached a condition: the march south could not begin until after the last harvest, before winter closed in. The help was thus bound to a timetable Rhaenyra had no way to shorten.
