House Codd

Among the many houses serving the stone throne of Pyke, the Codds hold no known seat of their own, since no source records where their household stood within the Iron Islands. Their arms show a silver cod on a black field, and their words already announce the scorn that follows them before anyone else has to give it.

Among the islanders themselves, the Codd name carries little honor. Their men are held to be thieves and cowards, and their women are accused of selling themselves and of lying with their own brothers and fathers.

That contempt, shared by the rest of the ironborn, explains why their words admit the scorn of others outright rather than deny it.
