Theon III Greyjoy

Theon III Greyjoy ruled the Iron Islands in the age before the Andals crossed into Westeros, styled King of Salt and Rock and third of his name since the Grey King.

His rule was shaped by a standoff with two of the great houses of the Reach over the tribute they owed him as king of the Iron Islands.

Before the Andals reached Westeros, Theon III Greyjoy held the Iron Islands' throne, bearing the titles King of Salt and Rock and third king of that name since the Grey King.

During his rule, House Gardener and House Hightower stopped handing over the tribute owed to the king of the Iron Islands.

Chapter 2

The expedition against the Reach

Faced with that refusal, Theon III gathered an expedition and sailed for the Reach.

There he met his death at the hands of Lord Lymond Hightower.
