House Botley of Lordsport
Casa Botley de Puerto Noble
House Botley of Lordsport is a noble house of the Iron Islands, sworn to the lords of Pyke, whose seat gives its name to the harbour that crowns the island on the side opposite their overlords' stronghold.
Their arms show a shoal of silver fish on a pale green field, and their history counts more than one lord lost in the wars that dragged the Iron Islands into conflict with their neighbours.
Chapter 1
The price Lordsport paid
Books only
During the regency of Aegon III Targaryen, raiders out of the Iron Islands struck the coasts of the Westerlands. Lady Johanna, Lady of Casterly Rock, sought reprisal and persuaded Ser Leo Costayne to carry the response back to the islands themselves.
The attack reached Lordsport as well, and among the dead of that campaign was the Lord Botley of the time.
Chapter 2
From wood to stone
Books only
The first Botley stronghold at Lordsport was built of wood and hemp, and remained so until the Greyjoy Rebellion brought war to the islands. It was then that King Robert Baratheon burned it down to its foundations.
Lord Sawane Botley later raised a new keep, this time of stone, topped by a small square tower crowning a hill.
