House Vyrwel of Darkdell is a noble house of the Reach, sworn to House Tyrell and lord of Darkdell. It is remembered above all for the stand its lord took at the Tourney at Whitewalls, when he sided with a Blackfyre claimant.

Backing a Blackfyre at Whitewalls

Lord Vyrwel and his wife attended the Tourney at Whitewalls, and there both threw their support behind Daemon II Blackfyre when he took up arms in the short-lived rebellion that would bear his name.

When the revolt collapsed, a man in Lord Vyrwel's service claimed to have acted as a spy for Bloodraven. The claim did not save him: a man in Lord Costayne's service killed him on the spot.
