Amanda Arryn

Amanda Arryn was born the youngest daughter of Lord Rodrik Arryn's first marriage. Her father, Lord of the Eyrie, sat on King Jaehaerys I Targaryen's small council as Lord Justiciar and Master of Laws. She had one sister, Elys, and two brothers, and grew up at the Eyrie while her father carried out his duties in King's Landing.

Her mother died at some point before 80 AC. That year, Lord Rodrik remarried, this time to Princess Daella Targaryen, fourth daughter of King Jaehaerys I and his sister-wife, Queen Alysanne.

The following year, in 81 AC, Lord Rodrik resigned his seat on the small council and returned to the Eyrie with Princess Daella, saying his children needed time to get to know their new mother. Amanda was one of the three youngest children with whom the princess grew closest, and the fondness seemed to run both ways.

During those years, Amanda often wrote the letters her stepmother sent to Queen Alysanne, keeping open a thread between the Eyrie and the court.
