Teora Hunter

Teora Hunter was queen consort of the Mountain and the Vale as the wife of Roland I Arryn. The legend that survives remembers her not for a reign of her own, but for a piece of advice: the one that led to the building of the castle that would become the Eyrie.

Chapter 1

Teora's counsel

Books only

Teora was the daughter of Lord Hunter, ruler of Longbow Hall, and married Roland Arryn, King of the Mountain and the Vale. Legend gives her a decisive part in the founding of the house's most famous castle: it was she who reminded her husband how his great-grandfather had defeated Robar II Royce by striking from the heights.

Following her words, Roland claimed the highest ground in the region and ordered a stronghold built there. That castle would in time become the Eyrie, built so that anyone attacking House Arryn would have to do it from below.
