Hubert Arryn
Hubert Arryn was the lord of House Arryn who took charge of the Vale when the direct line of his family collapsed during a turbulent stretch of Aenys I Targaryen's reign. As Lord of the Eyrie, Defender of the Vale and Warden of the East, he had to rebuild a house marked by violence among its own kin.
Chapter 1
The fall of the Arryns
Books only
Ronnel Arryn ruled the Vale until his younger brother Jonos seized him and held him prisoner in the Eyrie. King Aenys I Targaryen did nothing about the revolt, so Lord Allard Royce took command and laid siege to the stronghold.
Jonos answered the siege by throwing his own brother through the Moon Door. Prince Maegor Targaryen then flew Balerion to the Eyrie and put to death everyone who had taken part in Ronnel's killing; Jonos himself was thrown through the same door by his own men.
