House Egen
On this tab
House Egen serves the Arryns as one of their vassal families in the Vale, though no record grants it a seat of its own or much history beyond that service.
Its name only reaches wider notice because one of its knights stands for the lords of the Eyrie at a moment when the Vale's justice is settled by the sword.
Ser Vardis Egen
Ser Vardis Egen is the one who receives Catelyn Tully when she arrives at the Eyrie, the Arryn stronghold high in the Vale.
When Tyrion Lannister demands trial by combat to answer the charge against him, Ser Vardis is the man House Arryn names as its champion. He faces the sellsword Bronn, chosen by Tyrion himself, and the fight costs him his life.
