House Belmore of Strongsong

Casa Belmore de Rapsodia

House Belmore of Strongsong is one of the great houses of the Vale of Arryn, a bannerman of House Arryn and lord of the castle of Strongsong. Their arms show six silver bells on a purple field, and their standing in the Vale places them among the most powerful families of the region.

The Belmores descend from the First Men and have governed their lands for generations, under the oath their ancestors swore to the first Arryn lords.

Chapter 1

The Battle of the Seven Stars

When the Andals landed in the Vale, the Belmores took up arms alongside King Robar Royce, second of his name, to stand against them. The alliance was not enough: in the clash remembered as the Battle of the Seven Stars, the First Men's host went down in defeat.

The house endured, but it paid for it. They handed over gold, ceded part of their lands and sent hostages to the victors. It was Artys Arryn, by then proclaimed King of Mountain and Vale, who received the Belmores kneeling as his new bannermen.
