Sabitha Vypren

When war broke out between Rhaenyra's supporters and her brother's, Sabitha rode out with Lord Forrest Frey to join the river army gathered for the queen. Along the way she welcomed Lord Roderick Dustin and the men he brought with him, and shared a tent with Alysanne Blackwood for much of the march.

The army reached Harrenhal three days after Ser Criston Cole abandoned the castle, and it was Sabitha who took it. There she found and captured Alys Rivers, Prince Aemond Targaryen's pregnant mistress. The peace didn't last: Aemond returned on Vhagar and burned every wooden structure in Harrenhal. Sabitha survived the fire by hiding in a privy and fled back to the Twins; in the chaos, Alys Rivers escaped along with the prince.

In 130 AC, Lord Forrest Frey died at the battle by the lakeshore, leaving Sabitha in charge of the Twins and the Crossing while his heir was still a boy. Soon after, Addam Velaryon flew into the Riverlands on his dragon Seasmoke to ask for reinforcements for a second attack on Bitterbridge; Sabitha answered with men of her own, as did her father and her Vypren brothers.

In 131 AC, the river lords marched on King's Landing, and Sabitha marched with them. There she made a point of backing the youngest of the group, known as "the Boys": Lord Benjicot Blackwood and Lord Kermit Tully.

When a council of regents was chosen to govern during King Aegon III's minority, Sabitha was left off it; septon Eustace wrote that it didn't seem to trouble her much. She went home to the Twins and set about restoring some order to a Riverlands broken by war, including the Widows' Fairs, meant to match landless Stark soldiers who had stayed in the south with local war widows.

In 134 AC, Sabitha put six hundred Frey men at the service of Ser Robert Rowan, who marched on the Vale of Arryn to intervene in the succession dispute that had broken out in House Arryn.

In 136 AC, Lord Torrhen Manderly and Aegon III's regents planned a grand royal progress across the Seven Kingdoms to mark the king's coming of age. The Twins was among the planned stops, where Sabitha would have received him. The journey was called off before it got that far.

Mushroom, the court fool, painted her as a witch with a sharp face and a sharper tongue, who'd rather ride than dance, wear mail than silk, and liked killing men about as much as kissing women. Others simply called her a woman without mercy, ambitious and possessed of a courage not everyone read as a virtue.
