Aerion Targaryen
Not to be confused with Aerion Targaryen.
Aerion Targaryen was head of House Targaryen and Lord of Dragonstone, holding the island in the years when it was still his line's only foothold in Westeros.
Son of Daemion Targaryen, he carried the family forward through his marriage to Valaena Velaryon, which produced Aegon, Visenya and Rhaenys.
Chapter 1
The lord of a single island
Books only
Aerion inherited the lordship of Dragonstone from his father Daemion. According to semi-canonical sources, neither man showed much interest in anything beyond the island itself, a trait that marked this branch of the Targaryens before they ever looked toward the rest of Westeros.
He married Valaena Velaryon, and the marriage produced three children who would carry the family name far further than he ever imagined: Aegon, Visenya and Rhaenys.
Chapter 2
A son born outside the marriage
Books only
Aerion may also have fathered a bastard son, Orys Baratheon, though the sources do not confirm it.
