Coronation of Rhaenyra I
coronación de Rhaenyra I
At Dragonstone, Daemon Targaryen crowns his wife Rhaenyra as queen, answering Aegon II's own coronation in King's Landing. The act leaves the Seven Kingdoms with two rival monarchs and sets off the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons.

After Viserys I's death, the throne was contested between his children. In King's Landing, the council had already proclaimed the late king's son Aegon as ruler, leaving Rhaenyra without the seat her father had promised her in life.
Dragonstone answered on its own terms: there, Daemon Targaryen, Rhaenyra's husband, placed the crown on her head and named her queen, as Rhaenyra I. With two coronations already held in two different castles, there was no way left to settle the dispute but by arms, and so began the war that history would remember as the Dance of the Dragons.
