The coronation of Aegon II Targaryen was the act by which the Green faction proclaimed Viserys I's eldest son king at King's Landing, moving ahead of Princess Rhaenyra.
With two crowned Targaryens in the same year, this act opened the Dance of the Dragons, the civil war between the rival claimants to the Iron Throne.

At King's Landing, Otto Hightower, Alicent Hightower and Ser Criston Cole moved before anyone else could claim the throne: they gathered support to proclaim Prince Aegon king, with House Targaryen and House Hightower — the Greens — behind the decision.
Lord Lyman Beesbury opposed the move and was killed by Criston Cole. With the council broken, the way lay open for the coronation.

Daemon TargaryenOn the tenth day of the third month of 129 AC, Aegon was crowned king at the Dragonpit in King's Landing, wearing the same crown Aegon the Conqueror had worn.
Not every lord present swore fealty: Buckler, Caswell, Harte, Hayford and Lady Fell refused, and the King's Justice beheaded them.
Princess Rhaenyra, in turn, was crowned queen at Dragonstone by her husband, Prince Daemon. With two rival coronations, the Dance of the Dragons broke out.
