Whalen Frey
Ser Whalen Frey is Lord Walder Frey's fourteenth son and the third born of his marriage to Alyssa Blackwood. He is married to Sylwa Paege, with whom he has two children, Hoster and Merianne.
His name comes up whenever House Frey deals with the north: first during the parley Lord Walder holds with Lady Catelyn Tully, and later at the wedding his family throws to seal their alliance with the Starks.

Whalen's axe
Books only
Later, Walder Rivers tells Ser Jaime Lannister what happened that night to Robb Stark's direwolf: Whalen was among those who took part in killing Grey Wind.
Ser Raynald Westerling tried to stop him and managed to wrench the axe from his hands, but couldn't save the animal. By Whalen's own account, Raynald was wounded and vanished afterward into the Green Fork, never to be heard from again.
