A candidate for the king

Bethany was the daughter of Lord Ormund Hightower and his first wife, and had three brothers: Lyonel, Martyn and Garmund.
When Queen Jaehaera Targaryen died in King's Landing in 133 AC, the Hand of the King, Lord Unwin Peake, moved quickly to have his own daughter become the new wife of Aegon III, and several lords of the realm objected by proposing their own candidates. Bethany was among them: her sister-in-law, Lady Samantha Tarly, described her in a letter as a young woman "very fair, with soft skin, glossy hair, and manners exceedingly refined", but also "lazy and a bit simple". Samantha even suggested the king marry both Bethany and her own sister Sansara at once, one to rule beside him and the other for bedding and breeding. Neither of them became queen.
