Garmon Hightower

Chapter 1

One of the sons of the Hightower

Books only

Garmon was one of the younger sons of Lord Manfred, who ruled Antigua and the Hightower during the years of the War of Conquest, as Aegon Targaryen subdued the realms of Westeros one by one. He had three brothers, Addam among them, the firstborn and his father's heir.

Chapter 2

Death at the walls of Antigua

9–10 ACBooks only

In the year 9 after the Conquest, Aegon and Visenya Targaryen burned Asperón, Vaith, and Sotoinferno. The Dornish did not let the attack go unanswered: the following year, Lord Fowler crossed the Prince's Pass into the Rejo and took Canto Nocturno.

When word reached Antigua, Lord Manfred sent his eldest son, Ser Addam, with a considerable force to retake the town. Meanwhile a second Dornish army, led by Ser Joffrey Dayne, came down from Campoestrella and fell upon Antigua itself: the city's walls held, but the Dornishmen burned fields, farms, and villages for twenty leagues around.

Garmon rode out at the head of a party against Ser Joffrey Dayne. The encounter ended with his death at the Dornish knight's hands.
