Dorian Hightower
Dorian Hightower was Lord of Oldtown and head of House Hightower during the Andal invasion of Westeros.
He is remembered for his house's stance toward the newcomers: while the other lords of the continent fought them, the Hightowers chose to welcome them instead.

Welcoming the Andals

When the Andals began arriving in Westeros, most of the continent's lords met them with steel. Lord Dorian went the other way and opened Oldtown's gates to the newcomers.
That approach went beyond politics. Dorian set aside the wife of twenty years who had borne his children and married an Andal princess instead.
